Just a note to all who might be in the path of the latest weather plague to hit the state of Florida, BE SAFE AND TAKE CARE OF YOU! I can't believe it is starting already, how much more can one place take! Saying my prayers! _________________

I'm with you Joan, and hope for the best. However, when you move or live in Florida, you know that the state is a prime area for hurricanes, just as Brooklyn Park, MN is prime for snow every year. Florida can expect the threat of hurricanes every year, for ever into the future. I'm not making slight of the situation, but that is just the way it is. The national hurricane center for the United States is here in Boulder, Colorado - go figure. - Millet |

And 95% of the world's scientists are in agreement that with the warming over Atlantic, it is just going to get worse, both fequency and intensity. |

Well we made it through Alberto just fine. The rain was extremely welcome here, did not get an over abundance. Ground is already dry. Had some strong wind and gusts, no damage around our neighborhood. Hope other neighborhoods did just as well.
Thanks _________________ Disneygirl |

Were getting some pretty heavy rain from this one. The worst is supposed to be tonight... Glad everyone in FL made it through without problems. |

Alberto is the kind of tropical weather that we want. No serious wind and lots of slow rain. When I left this moring I'd received four and three tenths inches over about a thirty six hour period. Since we knew he was coming I did a forced march fertilization of everything on the place last Sunday.
Unfortunately as bad as we needed the rain it now means I've got to start mowing regularly again. No unmixed blessings it seems.

Laaz, watching the weather on TV last night, it showed the remains of Alberto, was passing directly over Charleston. How many inches of rain did you receive? - Millet |

We had heavy rain & lightning all night. Great for watering the yard... Sunny & humid as well today with a nice breeze blowing. |

When there's rain and lightning, for sure there will be plenty of edible mushrooms a few days later. The crack of lightning in the middle of predominantly nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere produces nitrates, nitrites which can enhance fungal activities such as those of mushrooms. |
