Thanks Millet! Last week I received a 2-3 year old Kaffir lime from 4-Winds, my wife had me buy one so she could use the leaves. Now she will know how to use them.
The hard part now is letting her actually pick leaves off one of my citrus trees, I may have to turn my head.
On another note the tree from 4-winds was very nice size, lots of leaves and tons of new growth just getting started. I bought it and an Algerian Clementine that also looks great.

Good timing. I was talking to my mom last night over Easter dinner about Kaffir Lime leaves.

Philip, "Mom" and "Easter Dinner" are three words that always go together. My Mon died several years back, so I no longer have the PRIVLEDGE, now my wife is the "Mom", making "Easter dinner" for kids and grandchildren. - Millet |

Well I sent mom your link after I posted the last message.
I know what you mean about the changes in the family that occur and their impact on holidays. Now in my mid 30's I look back at my youth and see how much my family has changed. Most of my grandparents are deceased and my aunt and uncle moved to North Dakota, leaving just me, my parents, and 2 sisters alone for many holidays. Now each of us is now married, there's 5 grandchildren (#6 will be here Wednesday to make it 2 kids for each of us), and my mother and father in-law moved here from Missouri last fall. We've certainly been blessed with the regrowth of a dwindling family, but I can remember the loneliness of the years we didn't have our family near and the fond memories of grandparents that made every holiday special to us kids. The hard times however really make you appreciate what you have now.

mmmmm yumm, I have a kaffir lime and have wondered how to cook with it. I'm going to try it in rice. That sounds wonderful. and next time my wife cooks up a ti chicken I'll suggest a couple of leaves in the pot.
Thanks for the link! _________________ Sunset zone 13. Mulch and the right amount of water fixes almost everything. Nothin's sweeter that a drink from your own well. |
