Who Lowered my ceiling over summer??? They must have done it while I slept!!!
Maybe they raised the floors???
Has to have been one or the other!!! My plants CAN'T have grown THAT much!!!!!

I scrambled last night to bring in my plants.. lows of 40* predicted..
I know most of my plants would handle that just fine.. but I'd have to dig through and figure which ones would be OK and what wouldn't.. So Just packed every thing in..
WOW they have grown!!!!
3 weeks ago I sprayed lime sulpher to help with the spider mites that seem to attack the second the plants are brought in.. TG the smell is gone!! though my porch was terrible smelling for the first week.. Little kid came up to the door to ask for my son to come play.. he asked why the porch smelled like rotten eggs.... and he'd wait for my son on the swing set..... Laughing
I hope that was enough to get them through winter... I do NOT want to have to do that during winter..
I WILL provide wintering for them this year.. Hubby keeps complaining that I still have NO fruit..
I will put them in a closet.. The closet has a smallish window.. it is on the north side of the house so it won't get direct light... it is the only room in my house that is NOT heated.. my only concern is it might get too cold.. if it does get cold I can open the doors and let a little heat in.. but I don't have one of those temp alarm thingies so I'm going to have to check it constantly..

I was going to post a pic.. but surprise surprise the batteries are dead on the camera.. guess the ppl who lowered the ceiling played with the camera and ran the batteries down while they were taking a break from their construction....
hehehehe....

Welcome back Gina! Don't be such a stranger.
I control the air in my sunroom by opening or closing door to it from kitchen. There is no heat source in it, so like you, I just have to watch the thermometer. On freezing nights, I have door mostly open & it sure makes the kitchen floor cold!
I'm nervous about getting my plants in too. They grew so much!
Where do you get lime sulphur? I have Liver of Sulphur --smells like rotten eggs, but it's for getting copper to patina.

Millet you bring the Tequila and Laaz can bring the Corona..
I've got plenty of Life's Lemons right now.. and even some salt the Bank & FEMA have been pouring on the wounds.. LOL Laughing
BIG BASH at my place!!!!! Very Happy

I have a little sign that says that here at my desk..
Heck anyone can make lemonade out of Lemons.. ya have to be creative to make a party out of lemons!!!

Patty, I got the Lime Sulphur from my dad.. I imagine any Nursery would carry it.. I have not been to the local Nursery this year to see if they had any.. Last year all of their stock was washed away with the flood!!!
Bonnie had suggested the Lime Sulphur.. I've tried lots of other stuff... they kinda work.. I'm hoping this will work 100%...
The label says "fungicide-Insecticide-miticide"
I have no clue if what I have is relative to what you have.. some one with chemical background might know..

You can make your own lime sulfur. I saw a recipe on the internet--IIRC you just boil some sulfur with hydrated lime then let it settle and use the clear liquid.

Skeet, If I ever attempted to boil sulfur with hydrated lime, I would be in divorce court before the sun set. When I was an agricultural chemical salesman for Van Waters & Rogers, I sold Lime Sulfur to the growers in 55-gallon drums. Like Bonnie says, Lime Sulfur is dirt cheap to purchase. In fact all the manufactures at the time even packaged it in old used metal drums. - Millet

I am sure it would be a smelly operation! To be done outside for sure--might help run off a few mosquitos!

I have used just plain sulfur, as a dusting powder and as a spray, but I have never used lime sulfur.
