I have been trying to find a FD down here in FL for a long time and am having no luck. I want one just because I like the look of the tree. I am considering just buying one of the grafted citrus at Lowes that they sell as dwarf. Those should be on FD stock correct? I was thinking I could just cut the trunk below the graft and should end up with a FD right?

That may be the case and it may not. Not all "dwarf" trees are on Flying Dragon Rootstock. There are some other ways to construct a tree and control the size. If you want to be assured of getiing a true Flying Dragon I would get one from the many folks on this forum that have them. Most of us have Flying Dragon rootstock in various sizes. The other way is to get some seed from a forum member and plant and raise the Flying Dragon yourself. I find that planting the seed and raising my own rootstock is very satisfying..........as is grafting and growing and harvesting ..................I am a freak for it..........................David

Thanks. A member here offered to send me a few seeds yesterday so now I don't have to bother buying a tree from Lowes.
