Yes my Key lime produced a flower at the end of a thorn. It did mature the fruit as well.

Wow. This is completely fascinating to me. Laaz, how or why does this happen? I'd like to read more about this oddity. Any suggested reading on this unique phenomena?

A thorn is actually just a modified branch. Thorns are made from the very same material as the branch that they grew from. Although it is rather rare that a thorn will produce a flower, fruit, or leaf, because it is a modified branch it is certainly possible. It seems to happen in the genus Citrus a little more frequently than some other species. - Millet (652-)

Thanks, Millet. Very interesting. I guess I was thinking of my roses, and had never seen that ever happen with any of my roses. Citrus are very interesting plants, they have some unique properties.
