Rooting cuttings of Capulin Cherry and Autumn Olive

I aquired a cuttings of Capulin Cherry cultivar as well as Autumn Olive (a sweet one). I was wondering how hard it would be to root these cuttings. Should I stick them in the ground outside? Bottom Heat? Rooting hormone?
