Sorry this is a repost, or maybe I posted this to another forum, OH, just can't tell these days, getting fuzzy brained!!
Anyhow, we've driven pass the Jamaican Gardens (Garden center) for years and years, right off 94 north of downtown Chicago. This time I pulled over and was so happy I did! It's a great nursery with lots of interesting plants, healthy and disease free. Everything was spread out and grouped nicely.
They had bananas in the ground! I was going to ask how deep the soil was but forgot at checkout. The plants were at least 10 ft tall, I think.
They also had a lovely Calamondin in a big pot. It didn't look grafted and was about 8 ft tall, I think. I bought one that was about waist-high and very full, many branches and lots of fruit on it. I just kept thinking of that wine that I was missing,
especially after tasting the fruit. Tart!!
There were also Meyer Lemons and I think one other kind of citrus, must be kinda common because I had it already. The Calamondins were definitely the nicest plants they had, very full plants and nice and healthy looking.
If you happen to be in the area, stop by for a look.

Sorry if this is a no-no to list, I have no associations with the garden center, it was such a big surprise to see citrus for sale in the chilly midwest. Really perked me up, as I was in the 10th hr of a 12 hr drive to Wisconsin.
