Happy earth day. Sad there are so many that try in vain to make fun of anytime someone makes a effort to make people somewhat aware of the harm being done. Thank God they're the minority now and will continue to be.

Here's hoping to a really Happy Earth Day!

Just to remind ourselves that we should also be good stewards not only of ourselves but also to our only home planet that we share with all living things, now and for the future generations.

That's the whole issue. Environmentalist's aren't making people aware of harm being done. They are the ones doing the harm and why I am absolutely disgusted by environmentalism. They have moved from a movement to stop rivers from catching on fire in the 1960's to one that fabricates issues out of thin air (ie global warming) to support a cause. It's become a religion that worships bugs and dirt with little, if any, intelligence behind it. If they want to practice their religion, I'd say fine, but it's using my money to propagate a false belief.

I spend roughly 50% of my working hours dealing with "environmentalism" for projects that should be straight forward. The project I'm working on now is to try to add capacity to our waste water treatment plant. Without the expansion we have the potential to spill raw sewage into the precious environment. We've spent roughly a year on environmental studies to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). We've studied every bug, bunny, rat, plant, and turtle you can think of. When we're done, we will have spent over $350,000 on environmental studies. Did I mention the land we're studying is already being used for waste water disposal and all we want to do is reconfigure it to make it more efficient? Did I mention that as a result of CEQA, we will have to give up 25% of that land which cost $2 million for biological mitigation? That's another $500,000 added to the $350,000. This is TYPICAL of every project in California and the reason why we are out of power, out of water, and out of money. Soon, we will be out of housing, transportation, and infrastructure. I will like to see the environment when freeways are even more gridlocked, sewage spills are a common occurrence, shanty towns are set up in what used to be open grasslands, and trash piles up because no one can build a new landfill and "global warming" won't allow you to burn it.

I'm sorry, but to me environmentalists are dumber than a mud fence on a rainy day . . . PERIOD!!! They aren't the solution, they're the problem.

Before long, I won't be able to get out of California anyway. There won't be any roads and cars will be banned. I can horseback ride to work from where I currently live, but packing up the wife and three kids to move to Colorado might be a little much for the horse. Then again, I hear that there's a manure disposal problem here in Ramona and no one knows what to do with the stuff because of "environmental issues". I guess I'll be walking to work.
