These hang on the tree for months & are still excellent quality.

They resemble minature ornamental pumpkins. Hamlins are one of the best tasting fruits in my young garden. Fremont, Cara Cara and Sunburst are the others. All the rest still are insipid with many puffy. The years to come will only get better.

I know, aren't these just the MOST gorgeous oranges you have ever seen? They don't even look real, AND they are good! What a wonderful thing. I am supremely, supremely jealous. I want a variegated Hamlin, BOO!! Crying or Very sad

Those pictures are fantastic. I guess if somebody wanted any variegated citrus they would have to propagate by grafting. Does anybody sell these or the variegated Satsumas ? If they are as rare as I think , could you sell a bunch of grafted trees at an expo ? I bought the only variegated lemon I have ever seen this year. Way cool ! Tom

Sigh, yes. You need to wait until something you or a nearby friend has, that sports a variegated limb. For me in S. California, it really would have to appear in my own yard. Which is why I have a few special varieties that have a propensity to sport variegated branches (Cara Cara and Fukumoto), although any citrus can do this. So, I watch and watch... Same with blood fruit sporting. I am still trying to figure out what branch of my Persian Lime is the blood branch. I must go out with a big trash can, a knife and some red ribbon to figure out which branch it is this weekend, now that we are back to our lovely temps. A project, perhaps Smile

Tom, yes variegated citrus can only be done by grafting.

I'll have some available in the spring. I will also be grafting up a bunch of variegated satsuma & some others.

Great looking fruit! Like everyone else I am jealous. I don't see Hamlin much around my area.
