I got this from one of the Chain emails floating around. So I ask the group what's your opinion on this one, in the current recession (and soon to be depression) box that we are all trapped in:
Quote: | This video not allowed in America .
This video shows that George Bush tried to warn Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if something was not done? But congress refused to listen, along with Barney Franks. This video says it all .
Also, the liberal AMERICAN media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.
This link is of the same video but is routed through Canada. Everyone in America needs to see this no matter what your political beliefs are. |

As much as I respect what you've done here Joe I must comment on that one. The democratic party warned people about what was going to happen the day after Bush was elected in 2000 but no one seemed to listen. They listen now. |

No problem, this is off topic forum and politics, and so I expect that the truth may not be out there...
So you do you invalidate and discredit Bush's warning as presented?
Are the democrats to be solely credited for the warning?
I'm not pro-Republican nor pro-Democrat, nor support Bush. I may not like Bush, but I'm trying to present other evidences that at least he has some ideas where the country was headed at that time, and it is hard for me to invalidate the evidence at the moment.
If history repeats itself, it seems that the US president, including Obama, would be helpless. Something needed to be dramatically changed in our government system, leaders and business CEO's as well. |

Joe, I think the video was RIGHT ON, and presents much truth.. Especially Barney Frank, but also a few of the democratic leadership, deserves a massive about of blame. A president of the United States cannot make a bill or write legislation, that is the job of the congress. The president can either sign the bill or veto it. He is the president, not the King. During Bush's last term the democrats held the majority power in congress, and whatever happened for good or bad, the democrats must either take the credit or blame. I CANNOT believe the truth of such a statement that the Democrats "warned" President Bush on his VERY VERY FIRST DAY he was in office of a coming recession. Just seems way to strange for me. I think such a warning never happened, in fact, from your video, and once again from the public record, the ACTUAL TRUTH of the matter is that the warning came from the republicans, and the democrats did not heed the warning. Being in power, the democrats passed a lot, but not all, of the legislation that got us to this point. Lastly, their is enough blame to go around to many in congress, democrat and republican. As an aside: Mr. Obama wants to limit CEO's to $500,000 bonus, well the democratic congress just awarded the Post Master General of the United States $850,000.00. How do we spell Hypocritical, with a "D" ? - Millet (1,431-) |

Spot on Millet. The postal system is broken, but yet they get a pay raise? Is that not what they complained about with the banks? Rewarding failure? But here is the thing about the government, they will always take care of themselves. |

Putting politics aside, my belief is that no one person (or President) is the cause or solution to the problems we have in this country. The problems we have stem from a generation of people (starting in the 1960s) who are irresponsible, ignorant, and immoral. They refuse to accept responsibility for their actions, they are too stupid to live within their means, and don't have the moral fortitude to live up to the obligations/debts that they've made. Do I blame George Bush for that? Absolutely not. Do I think Obama will be the fix for that? Absolutely not. Do I blame banks? No. It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that "I make $X", "my new mortgage is $Y", "$Y is greater than $X", thus "I CAN'T AFFORD IT!" I blame the individuals who couldn't figure this out and were stoned during their high school arithmetic class. The one thing I agreed with Jesse the Body Ventura: "You can't legislate against stupidity."
The two courses that I see this country can go on from here:
1) Return to sensibility, people taking responsibility for their actions, and working hard to earn a living.
2) Communism.
I think number 2 is more likely than number 1.

(Sorry, I'm in rare form tonight. We got new neighbors in our quite neighborhood. 3 families moved into the house next door. All I hear are a dozen roosters (possibly cock fighting) and loud music playing tonight. I'm in a mood). |
