Hey Phillip, I have 2 Tarroco Blood Orange trees and that fruit is TASTY. How close are you to the coast? I am about 3/4 of a mile away so it never gets crazy hot or too cold and the oranges never pigment on the outside. In addition, they are SLOW growers and pretty damn stingy. Both of mine are in containers. Maybe I should put one in the gound. Anyway, you should buy a tree! Don't wait 7 years. $20 and you will be sitting pretty a year from now. Or get some budwood and graft an existing tree or plant the budwood. I have a zillion seeds that I am growing and everytime I look at them I get mad. No fruit for a long time.

I'm about 18 miles inland from the Ocean. We do get hot summers and cooler winters.

As far as the Tarroco, I'll have to put it on my shopping list. The problem is we have a citrus quarantine due to the psyllid so no one nearby can sell citrus. I'd have to go to North County. Budwood would work if I could find a source. I do have some sour orange rootstock about ready. The problem with budwood is I can only get it in California. Maybe I can try to get some UCR budwood in a few months.

Phillip
