boy am I glad I found this website! You can see in the pic that my calamondin is doing pretty well, however, the fruits are taking forever to grow and ripen it seems. I thinned a bunch of them as the branches are not able to hold them all up, but then it sprouted new shoots with flowers out of the places I had removed young fruit!

My question is should I pinch these new shoots so the damn tree will concentrate on finishing this crop or will that just make it grow even more shoots. Seems counterproductive to have blossoms on the floppy new shoots as the weight of fruit will just break them off...

Thanks!
Ben

Your tree does look healthy! No, there is no need to hand-thin a calomondin; they won't normally set too many fruit. And considering their size, citrus fruits do take a long time to mature, compared to other fruit types. Don't worry about it, and try to be patient. One of the nice things about calomondins is that they will set multiple crops of fruit per year, so you can have ripe fruit nearly all the time.
