Good evening everyone,
Does anyone use this fixture? I only had one citrus plant last winter and it was too young to bloom anyway. I had it by a window that got some full sun and supplemented w/this light fixture. I like these because you can just clamp them onto something and make a nice "citrus area" where there wasn't one before! I know what the package says, but what do you all think the optimal distance should be from bottom of light to top of plant? Also, how many hours per day to run it and does it matter what part of day? If anyone can share their results using these or has other/better supplemental lighting set-ups to share, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks! Stephanie |

well i use a normal light fixture with a full spectrum light bulb there not that much more expensive. Before i used a bad light fixure it wasn't bright enough and didn't cover much area. The i use now is so good for me that i went out and bought another since my collection grew. |

Is the one you use 150 watts also? How many hours per day do you keep it on? How much distance between bulb & plants?
Thanks |

I think it is a 100 watt bulb, it is on for around 13 1/2 hours a day all year i don't change it with the season and it is usually a few inches above the plants no more than a foot. |

I started using one of these bulbs about three weeks ago, and it seems to have helped quite a bit so far. I have it centered about 15" above my four young trees, and they are all showing new growth. It may be a coincidence, but the Oro Blanco's leaves have turned a darker green, and the Meyer has blossoms, new fruit and new growth all at the same time. I have the trees in a southeast window and have added humidity, this coupled with a very mild winter probably contributed to the positive results also. |
