I had plans for the today and would be 1/4 of the way to a destination but others health (not mine for a change) prevented the trip so I decided to use the time for long over due repotting and damage control and assessment of my potted plants.. I do still have a few "sticks" but have quite a few that are already rebounding from their winter torture.. I found my Cali Gold banana has already put on a new pup!!!!!! It was stripped of what few leaves it had when we had high winds with that storm that blew through and set off the tornado in Joplin.. it's one leave looks very sad to say the least. but the new pup and the fact that the stem is still in good condition give me hope!!! Smile My two coffee give me a little worry, they are sticks.. Sad but I scratched the wood and they are still green under the bark so I'm not gonna give up on them.. Kasandra's Dwarf Cav nanner is doing great!! it has two new pups on and I potted it up.. Truly Tiny Nanner.. dead.. Little Prince Nanner doing good and has pups.. I was hoping with the heat and humidity that the other sticks would have bounced back better by now but they are slow to rebound.. Dwarf Pomegranate doing fine.. Cerimoya is taking it's sweet time rebounding but it is showing growth.. Guava is doing fairly well... The "finger lime" I had to cut back to a 8" stick but it is starting to bush out!!! Jack Fruit is another slow to rebound..
Citrus... Rangpur Lime is doing ok. Satsuma dead back to root stock.. Sad Ortanique dead.. One I can't remember right now is bouncing back ok.. 2 of the Yuzu seedlings are doing good.. Several unknown seedlings are doing good.. I had tags for every thing but the only tags that didn't get messed up are the yuzu.. When I get pics put up I'll name what I can with pics...
My Cactus are doing FANTASTIC!!!! but then they enjoyed the neglect over winter.. Those that didn't survive winter I'm thinking is mostly because I sorely neglected my plants and my usual help (Kasandra) was too busy with her last year of High school and being the Historian for FFA.. and we were more involved with FFA when my health was up.. but on a good note thereĀ… My husband and I made Honorary Chapter members for life!! got a plaque for my wall!!! I plan to stay involved with the local chapter!! The teacher and I have Discussed me giving grafting lessons but I am going to work with him on teaching him to graft so he can help assist the kids and it won't be just me and a class of kids.. the green house teacher is also interested!! Very Happy
Speaking of.... The Plum graft and it's host tree are doing great!!! Also Pecan I Texas bark grafted a few yrs back are showing signs of producing this year!!!!!!!! I offered to graft for a friend the same year he said no thanks and spent WAY TOO MUCH for a couple of HUGE trees from a place near Wichita and his trees are half the size of what I grafted and are showing no signs of producing!!! he is now sorry he didn't take me up on my offer!!! On a sad note.. I have lost all of my Persimmon grafts.. Sad not sure what killed the trees but the entire is dead.. Sad So I want to try Lampadina again but I want to graft it to the tree in my yard where I can better control it's environment..... *HINT HINT JOE REAL!!* Wink Any other suggestions for persimmon that might do well in my zone are welcome!!!

as for my outside trees (orchard) the Apricot is doing great!!! the Seedling Plum is doing FANTASTIC!!! The Peach is doing WWWOOOOOOWWWW!!!! the Pear and apple.. not so great... But I think I need to remove a tree that is casting shade over them during the day.. I've hated the tree since I moved here and now I have a GOOD reason to remove it!!! Smile The only fruit so far this year are on the seedling Plum that is only 3 yrs old or so!!! But I figure the store bought trees would take a few years for harvestable fruit.. but I'm SHOCKED the seedling it already fruiting!!!
We got Bunnies last year and I've been using bunny poo mulched under all the in ground trees...
Well that is about all the updates for now.. stay tuned for new pics SOON!! I'll try and get some Posted this afternoon.. Smile
