I had to reshape some trees in June so I said that it is time to root some cuttings just for fun

But there is something that I might not understand.

Allthough it does not have roots , and the mother tree was lacking few nutrients , while they were in the greenhouse they started to get greener than the mother plant itself.

I did reshape the bottom orizontal branches and there were no flowers neither fruits , and now after they rooted the first thing they do is 2 leaves and few flowers.

The roots are developing fast so the cutting is healthy but I just don't get it , how is possible.

I know that a citrus tree will flower only if water-stress is involved or is the natural way, but in this case it might be none of them.

That is pretty common with both Meyer lemon and Calomondin. Tiny trees with quite a few fruit after rooting them out.

I have had Meyer lemon, that when rooting will produce both first new leaves & flower buds at the same time.
