Hi Guys,
I'm new to growing tropical fruits. Unfortunately, as a Canadian.. it severely limits me, and.. as a student, it limits me even more,.. considering I do not currently have the money to invest in a million dollar greenhouse..
anywho.
I've recently purchased a 'young' Guava (Psidium Guajava) . Just over a foot tall.
Unfortunately, due to the Zone 5 weather.. he will be indoors up until late April, potentially later. When the weather warms up, its consistently >68-86 degrees F. For around 4-5 months.
I have made the obvious observation that plants I grow do better in ground.
I'm not sure if this is a method of not; I wouldn't know what to look up if it was. BUT, Is it a possibility to plant the guava in the ground when the weather warms up, and dig him up and put him in a container when it gets too cold? Is that too risky?
Any feedback would be great.
Clearly, I'm thinking about this way in advance..considering winter hasn't even started here..sigh.
Thanks,
Steve
