Hi Everyone:

Finally found the people that started me with my first citrus, now I'm @ 13 and still counting.
We had an extreamly hot and dry spring and summer on coastal south, I had to water my citrus trees with the hose for most of the time. Now that the weather is cooler the trees are producing lots of new growth that should had happend back in March/April. I followed the schedule for slow release fertilizer, but I think that It is just now making it through the root system.
I'm thinking I may need to change the fist feeding from January to maybe mid December in order for a March/April flush. Anyone else with this problem? Also would this be the reason for slow production? The only trees that bloomed were wash/navel and meyer/lemon. Thanks Gina

Hi Gina, nice to see you back here again! We missed you. Besides the slow released stuff, I'd add extra high nitrogen ferts like miracle grow in March or whatever. Maybe not enough fert?
Where on "coastal south" do you live?

Thanks Patty:

I did apply MG, maybe not enough, didn’t want to burn the roots knowing I wouldn’t be able to water. I’m in Savannah and I think this was the worst drought ever; my whole yard looked like crap, just cooling down enough to go outside and repair some of the damage. Gina
