Just got a 5 gallon (60$ shipped) Vainiglia Sanguigno from this nursery, The tree arrived in about 5 days shipped ground(TX to NC). it arrived in good shape but was not happy with the branching, it had two spindly main branches and about 15 leaves. Will take at least a year to get established. Overall experience 7 out of 10. |

I hope you know that what you bought is an acidless orange. They taste nothing like a regular orange being insipid and the opposite of tart. |

Thanks for the heads up but, I do know what these oranges taste like and in my opinion are quite good and uniquely flavored. But you are absolutely right, if you are expecting the flavour of a regular orange watch out![/url] |

I wonder if RGN is still able to ship citrus out of the state of Texas, as there are now some areas with quarantine within the state. - Millet (769-) |

Ryan, what do you think about RGN's graft, or budding on that tree? Personally I would be concerned about the crookedness (almost horizontal), of it. - Millet (765-) |

Its a little concerning that they would choose to graft at such an angle. However the graft looks pretty good and healed, hopefully the trunk will beef up so it can support the canopy as it ages. |

Yes, they can if they have a consent agreement with the USDA. The whole state is quarantined. |

They are strictly container growers. When I go I only order 1 gallon plants from them you might wanna ask for those because they mostly all look like your 5 gallon you got. I went by in November and they were potting up there 1 gallons into 5 gallons. I get my 5 gallon plants mainly from another wholesale field grower.
But their 5 gallon plants are usually small and spindly like that.
Shoot me a pm and I can get you in touch with that field grower. _________________ South Texas gardener |
