I grew up a few miles from downtown Charleston and am very well aquainted w/ the area. The picture above looks to be just past the Battery aka White Point Gardens along the waterfront to me. Rainbow Row is located on East Bay Street which includes about 14 brightly painted homes from the 1700's. A beautiful sight to see for any tourist that makes it down there.

Gaylord you are correct. I mixed the pics up. Is that a bad photoshop image you posted ? I'll have to go back down this weekend. I am missing one memory card with a ton of photos.

I believe the homes along Charleston's Rainbow Row are open to the public to tour during the Christmas season. I have always wanted to take that tour. My wife and I recently visited for a couple days in Charleston, SC with Laaz, prior to the 2006 Virginia Beach Citrus Expo. The three of us spent a wonderful afternoon in downtown Charleston at the Market and then went driving around Rainbow Row. It was a nice time.
