it was raining and howling, the branches were rubbing each other off. Fruitlets fell by the thousands today.
I had no time to strap my plants down. But I knew it! Hopefully the winds thinned them out to good number for quality fruits this time...
Was talking about my plums, apricots, pluots, plumcots.
Citruses are just blooming, so no need to worry about them. |

Your area must be ahead of us regarding fruiting fruits. My trees are just in the middle of flowering now. And I am glad we did not have those high winds you just had. |

I put my foot in my mouth.
It is now 1:20 PM March 27 and the wind starting to howl.
Oh, gosh........
I am glad I don't have fruitlets yet.
It was raining for 2 days and now, this wind........
I am glad I have my bananas in safe place.
The persimmon buds ( ones that I graft are starting to wake up) and I removed the plastic cover. |

Benny,
It is the perfect condition for Fireblight on pears and apples. Better spray copper directly on the blooms (not the leaves or stems) as soon as the wind dies down. Repeat spraying every 3 days until the days get hotter to over 75 deg F.
Can't believe that the cars frosted this morning! It registered 39 deg F this early morning. The lawn and citruses did not have frosts though.

I went to look for the copper sulfate or kocide at the HD, Wallmart and Orchard but no luck. My last chance are some of the nurseries and hardware store.
Wish me luck. |

find anything with copper (metal or compound) as active ingredient in the fungicide section. Ace Hardware surely will have them, sometimes Home Depot will have them. |

Thanks Joe again.
Yes, I went to Ace Hardware and sure enough I found one.
I sprayed all the apples, pears and citrus with copper fungicidal garden spray ingr. copper ammonium complex 31.4 %.
Thanks. |
