Citrus Leafminer egg. These you want to destroy as soon as you see them. Being your in FL you have no chance of getting rid of them. You just need to continue to destroy them. You will only find these on new growth tender leaves.

O.K. I went and further checked my tree and I found more on leaves and one on an itty bitty leaf. I dropped 2 of them and can't find where they went. Do I have to worry about the ones I dropped. How long is there incubation period? Are they hosted by ants? Could they put them there?

Laaz are you sure? At the scale of the photo, the egg is nearly the size of an adult CLM. I suspect it's orange dog eggs -- Papilio cresphontes. Still undesirable. Eggs or small caterpillars can be picked off by hand, on a small tree.

Hi Malcolm. That is what I was told. I get them on my citrus and they are only on the new growth. If left alone a few days later I will have CLM damage on the same leaves. We don't have the Butterflies here until April / May. These eggs start showing up in mid March. I believe I emailed you on this in the past ?
