I had a Chinotto, but I eventually tossed it in the compost pile, as I did not like the taste (Chinotto is a variety of Sour Orange). In my opinion the only use for the tree would be as an ornamental. Millet (1,016-)

We grow it as an ornamental, but I also like the taste.

This is the ony citrus my mouth refuse to taste again. Even poncirus and fortunella hindsii seem better for me.
But it's true, that it has style, as an ornemental tree.

Chinotto is classified as a sour orange, but is quite sweet when fully ripe.

Correct. Very sour, even the after taste that reminds for a long time in mouth. The fruit I tasted may not be fully ripe, as suggested by laaz ;; Rolling Eyes

Anyway Chinotto is an italian liquor also, I think. Made of this citrus aurantium. And it's pretty drinkable Laughing

Mine was quite sweet and pleasant, with a grapefruit like texture. I did leave it on the tree for a long time.
