Sprouted at the wrong time!!! I might lose these guys during the winter but hope that the rubber bands and grafting tape would keep them warm enough. I may have to really protect these when there is deep freeze in the forecast.

Thanks for the info.. I am fascinated by Blood Oranges.. The unusual flavors and look of the fruit flesh..
Do you know what varieties would be good for my growing conditions?? I don't mind if the skin doesn't get the dark color.. But I'd hate to grow a variety and then find I can't provide proper temps for the flesh to be yummy..
I love the idea of BO wine.. that sounds very yummy!!
good luck to your graft sprouting!!! Maybe some decorative lights for insurance?? My cara cara is currently growing!!! first one.. it is very small yet.. but I'm a proud new mommy!!! First one to start growing.. I have had to trim back callus trying to grow over the buds.. hope that spring will educe them.. I've tried notching above the grafts but they are being stubborn.. 9 all and all are still green.. I guess I will update my thread about the grafts tomorrow.. need to take a bud count and make sure I'm right on what ones are good and what didn't make it..

Gina, can't really say much what kind should be most appropriate. You have to try them all and it isn't costly to try with me around (just tell me what budwoods you want).
I have some nearby electrical outlets and is planning to do (Christmas lights) that later. Just haven't got the time to force myself as the frosty night forecasts are still considered mild.

Joe:
Your citrus look awesome. I can't visit too much now in our forum lately as I am very busy working at this time.
But your citrus is no. 1 in my book.

Coming from you, thanks for the compliments Benny!
BTW, did you dig out the mother California Gold and got the Calamondin and California Gold Sherry wines? The Calamondin wine was the favorite wine during the thanksgiving party...

No. I have'nt called Mike.
It will be another week before I can finish the rough-in for the house I am wiring. It is a huge house- some 4,300 sq -foot with swimpool.
Ahh... now I have something to look forward to dig that banana- to taste your calamondin wine.
Soon I will have plenty of excess of calamondin. Perhaps I should start now?
Nah......
I'm just kidding.
