FYI - Although technical and jargon-filled for Arc users, some interesting info-

Thanks for the link!!

I shared it with my mom.. Been a while since I've visited Esri web site.. Love what can be done with GIS.. I took an AG class that was using GIS in farming.. (it was the only GIS class offered here and I wanted GIS class to go with my ACAD/ mapping classes) Amazing they can even get top of the line unit that will steer the tractor while they are watching TV in the cab and get just the precise amount applied of what ever exactly where it is needed on their field..

The layers of info that can be stored for a spot is amazing!!!!

Are you a Esri user Keith??

Thanks Gina!

Yes, I have used ESRI software for a long time, although I haven't kept pace lately with ArcMap. I was trained on the ArcInfo command line package and disliked menu driven ArcView when it appeared Smile

When the new tractors can be programmed with GPS for automatic navigation AND read the soil series attributes for a field to apply custom applications of fertilizer, THAT is truly impressive!!
