How could we answer? It could go from snails to deers!
May be a picture could help.
Is it full leaves, hedge or middle that are bitten?

It might be slugs. Check underneath the pot to see if they're hiding there. Or it might be moth caterpillars, they look like twigs hanging next to the leaves.

Without knowing what the cause is it's hard to recommend anything, especially for indoors where you can't use any harsh chemicals or poisons. Try and find the culprit then do an internet search for an organic method of control. Good luck!

Do you happen to have any pets? I have a Border Collie who seems obsessed with nibbling on my citrus leaves. By looking at them, you'd think a caterpillar had munched his way along the leaves.

As for a spray, you should look around at local garden centers (or online) for Neem Oil. It's an organic spray that has worked really well for things like scale and mealy bugs on my plants. I wouldn't use anything like dish soap, as they can be toxic to plants.
