. The Fruit Hunters: A Story of Nature, Adventure, Commerce, and Obsession
From Publisher’s Weekly:
“Journalist Gollner's debut is a rollicking account of the world of fruit and fruit fanatics. He's traveled to many countries in search of exotic fruits, and he describes in sensuous detail some of the hundreds of varieties he's sampled, among them peanut butter fruit, blackberry-jam fruit and coco-de-mer—a suggestively shaped coconut known as the lady fruit that grows only in the Seychelles. Equally intriguing are some of the characters he has encountered—a botanist in Borneo who spends his life studying malodorous durians; fruitarians who believe that a fruit diet promotes transcendental experiences; fruitleggers who bypass import laws; and fruit inventors such as the fabricator of the Grapple—which looks like an apple and tastes like a grape.”

I wasn't sure where to put this posting- it doesn't specifically mention citrus but I'm sure it's in the book. Maybe we need a books section?

Seems that would be one for the citrus "guru's" here LOL.
I'm still finding info on why my leaves turn yellow & fruits falling off Laughing
Susan, you could soon be a Guru here!

I doubt I'd ever be a guru, unless you mean in number of postings! lol

Hey, I see I have moved from newbie to citrus-holic. A perfect name for me. Now that things are starting to ripen I hope to use some of the recipes in the recipe section- for cookies, cakes, and pies, since we love sweets!

The most active "professional" fruit hunter that I know is David Karp, also known as the Fruit Detective. David travels the world in search of rare, unusual and native fruits. He has regular articles that appear in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, CRFG's magazine The Fruit Gardner, and various food & wine magazines. David lives in California. - Millet

I posted a recipe for Lime Melt Aways -cookies. I have 2 limes ready for picking so I will make a batch again soon. Also, check out my Christmas Tequila cookies there. Laughing
"Looks like an apple, tastes like a grape" hmmmm, yum

The lime meltaways was first on my list, I thought I better fix them BEFORE making the tequila cookies. Love that recipe, what a hoot!
