I had my first meyer lemon last night!

it was small, quite tart, and very juicy. Great addition to Blue Moon Belgian Style Ale. OK on fish.

im impressed with my silly little 2-twigs Meyer which ripened 2 lemons over the winter, and has one bean-sized fruit trying now.

What upsets me is my Meiwa Kumquat. friuts from the 1st and 2nd flushes were all pithy. unedible. gross! (skin was OK to nibble on)

The Meiwa is in a black pot, and im thinking of potting up to a 4-gallon egg bucket with holes drilled in-

I know some mandarins get better with age, but this is a grafted tree with about 2 foot above graft stem and several branches. much bigger than my meyer which is ripening good fruit.

Garnet, congrat's on your first home-grown Meyer!!! I remember sharing my first with you at the expo. I love meyer lem's.
I hope that 4 gal pot for your Meiwa isn't too big...mine tend to start root rot if pot is too big. My Meiwa lost all the blossoms it had over winter.
Meyer is starting some new blooms now.
