Thanks jjp,

That explains why some of my FlyingDragon seedlings are coming out as 2 stems Smile

As a note, there are 27 new seedlings but only 4 of them has 2 stems.Do I need to cut second stems?

At weekend, when I will be at farm, I will cut one meyer lemon seed and one flying dragon seed, then I will compare to see the difference.

Best,

It is up to you as whether or not to cut the stems of multiple embryos, they can be separated fairly easily when they are a couple inches tall, but I would not let them grow to grafting size without either cutting one or separating them.

One quick way to find out if the seed of a cultivar is monoembryonic or poyembryonic is to open up one. Remove the seed coat, and with the aid of a magnifying glass and a dental pick, try to separate the seed . If it separate into many parts then that is polyembryonic.

However, not all monoembryonic seeds will not produce true to type. You can never make general sweeping statements when it comes to plants. Laaz mentioned that while Yuzu has monoembryonic seeds, it produces true to type.

Today, I cut 2 seeds, one from Meyer lemon and one from Flying Dragon.
I am afraid I saw no difference, they were very similar Embarassed
