I agree with that.. The Banana Peppers hubby and I grew this year started out very mild but as the temps raised out so did the temps of the peppers.. I think that the ones that were directly in the sun were hotter still than the ones that were deep in the shade of the plant.. Guess it was natures way of letting us adjust to the heat over time.. Rolling Eyes
or maybe it was just that it was so stinking hot out we were already sweating and the extra sweat just made us hotter?? ahhh and then the euforia kicked in.. Wink

I am thoroughly sold on the idea that eating hot peppers has protected my stomach from ulcers-- a common side effect of taking anti-inflammatory medications. We eat gallons of jalapenos a year. I tried growing habaneros, but the ones I grew were never as sweet (or as red) as the habanero sauces we bought and liked. Most of the ones we liked were from the Carribean, so I guess that the milder but longer growing season makes the peppers sweeter.

I found this old thread,
Joe, did you ever get your peppers? I was given a plant dubbed "chile del monte" by the person that gave it to my friend. It is not a tiny plant though, in my yard probably 7'x7'x3' (planted against a fence) tons of HOT pea sized fruit. Wont take the top of your head off but nice and hot. Grows year 'round for me (except this last winter killed a 6(?) year old plant. I did not replant this year because things were being moved, it will be back next. Might have a few seeds to spare.
