Does anybody have favorite mail-order sources for citrus plant containers. I need to re-pot 3 lemons/limes (dwarf) and am not happy with the selection at Lowes/Menards here in Indiana. I know Millet has talked about poly-grow bags (I think). I need something more rigid like poly-resin or fiberglass since I have to lug my pots into the house every winter. Is it important to have straight-sided containers or is a slope-sided container ok? I will want to drill extra drainage holes. Unfortunately a lot of the mail-order pots are EXPENSIVE. I want something more functional and do not need a designer pot. Would it be better to have black or terra cotta/tan-colored pots? I do have prob's with WLD in winter and do not use supplemental heating/lighting.

Ingardener, I know nothing about poly-grow bags, nor have I ever used them. The only containers that I ever use are Air Root Pruning containers from Root Maker Products Company. Here is their link. http://www.rootmaker.com/

You are absolutely right. My error. I meant the air root pruning containers which I know you have mentioned and I believe are not rigid. Do you have any thoughts on this? I would think it would be impossible to have 100+ citrus trees in poly-resin type containers but I only have 3 trees and have to haul them up to a 2nd-story sunroom - no greenhouse unfortunately. Am looking for something functional and not super-expensive.

The 1, 3 and 5 gallon air root pruning containers (ARPC) are all strong ridged hard black plastic containers. Root Maker Products Co. also sells 100-ft. long black plastic rolls, in either 18" or 30" high, from which the grower can make any size container that he requires, up to sizes as large as 300 gallons. For my larger trees, I have made many large size containers from these ARP rolls. Root Maker does make some fabric type containers, however, I have never as yet used them. - Millet (996-)
