I have 6 in ground citrus trees and approximately another 100 citrus trees of different varieties growing in containers, and they all survived last night's freezing temperature of -17F for 4 hours. Tonights low is predicted to be zero. If they all survived -17F last night they should be able to handle zero tonight. Amazingly they survived unharmed, with no damage at all, not even any leaf drop. Oh, ---- I forgot to mention, they were all in my heated greenhouse, I guess that must have helped. - Millet (1,133-)

For a moment I really believed you... I'm anxiously waiting for someone to come up with an edible (or inedible, for what that matters) citrus that could be grown outdoors in the ground here. Should be able to take severe frost, around -30C for some days or weeks, fluctuating winter temps between +10C and -20C for months without sunlight and then some suprisingly warm spring sun when the ground is still deep frozen to half a meter depth. Of course it should also be thriving in cool and rainy summers just as well as in dry and hot summers. There's a challenge!

We had one night of hard frost about two weeks ago, a bit earlier than I expected.

Got a whole bunch of dead leaves on my orange, lemon and grapefruit seedlings (they are all inside now). Forgot about my two pineapples and I think one is dead Crying or Very sad . The Physalis lost a lot of leaves as well.

Well, here in germany the temperatures were down to 0° F, which is pretty cold.
And some have much more cold....

So my plants do all well, because inside on the windowsill, the heating is below the windowsill and additional heating mats are placed under the pots... this ensures a good winter time...
The shortest day of the year is over and now the days get longer and longer again...

Merry Christmas
