I just posted this on the "In ground citrus" forum with the pictures, but since this forum is specifically for pictures I'll put it here as well - hope that's ok.

Three years ago (March 2009) I posted my concerns about my Satsuma tangerine on the Welcome Forum. The description I gave it them is the same as it looks today. It doesn't look healthy, although it produced lots and lots of wonderful fruit this year. Last year it had almost no fruit but I understand that's normal.

I have never looked for new growth and will try to do so this year. I do see the beginning of new growth in some places.

I still give it citrus food 3x a year, try to water it correctly, mulched with composted horse manure once.

I just bought 10 pounds of cornmeal to broadcast as Joe Real suggested back in 2009 and I never did. I haven't put it out yet.

You'll be able to tell from my pictures my concerns. I can post more pictures if that would help.

Thanks!!

Ginny

What is the mottling on the bark?

Typical leaf

Nice green leaves on a few branches in the back in a lot of shade.

Is your soil alkaline? It appears your plant suffers from micro nutrient deficiency. Maybe some others can comment and help.

I have alkaline soil here in southeast Florida and apply a nutritional spray containing micro nutrients and iron soil drench.

I recently purchased a product on the internet called "MicroNutrients" from Nature's Lawn & Garden, Inc. This is mixed with water and applied as a Nutritional spray.

I also bought iron chelate micronutrients called Sequestrene 138 Fe which is applied as a soil drench. I forget where this was purchased but you can do a search for it.

I definitely agree with TRI. You're growing your tree in alkaline soil, which is not a medium in which it can take up nutrients and thrive.
