1) How soon is too soon to feed the tree that was yellowing a bit, and had some deficiencies a citrus micronutrient growers blend? I have repotted these about 2 weeks ago.

2) How often does everyone water if using CHCs? Can you overwater these now? Watering every three days a problem?

Thanks everyone. Very glad to be a part of such a great and helpful forum

Ive waterer-in with dilute fert and burned trees, but ive also watered in older trees and theyve been OK. I seem to remember a suggestion of about a month to stabilize before fertilizing.

I dont know if you CAN overwater CHCs outdoors in warm weather. I had to be a bit careful indoors, but in warm weather they should be OK. You dont want them to get completely dried out under the surface. 3-4 days is good here

good luck!

If you didn't add any slow release fertilizer in the chip mix when you repotted the trees and it's been two weeks since you did then I'd go ahead and fertilize now.

If you did add slow release fertilizer I'd wait another week or so then fertilize as usual.

Beginnercitrus asks, "How often do you water trees growing in CHC? Water when the CHC become semi-dry. Know that the top two inches or so will dry rather quickly, but the chips below the top two inches, which are in the tree's root zone, will stay wet/moist for an extended period. It is the root zone layer that you need to acertain. By the way, it is a real blessing that the top couple inches dry out quickly, because of this CHC containers almost never have a problem with fungus gnats, or stem rot. - Millet
