It has been so unseasonably warm this year that I have one Owari with about 30 fruit the size of a nickel. It flowered after the fall fruit were removed. What to do?
Pull the fruit and let it flower in the spring or move to the greenhouse? The first freeze of the year is predicted for the end of next week. Three of these fruit are turning yellow so I suspect that it is time to pull them. Right?

Well,
difficult.
I simply let the fruit attached to the tree from flower to fruit for about 8 to 10 month. depending on the gowth and how it looks.
As my fruit to not get any cold, I have to harvest my fruit nearly completely green:

As you can see, the peel exhibits only a light yellow blush, but won't get any orange coloration, because for orange coloration a cold periode is need, just for the color breakdown in which cold brings the tree to remove the green chloroplast elements and replace it for with orange/red/yellow chromoplast elements. And those elements will be responsible for the orange peel color.

So if you fruit has a proper size, is long enough on the tree, and cold was missing, well, maybe it's time to pick the fruits.

But there is no thing to making a head on flower and fruits at the same time on a tree. The tree will usually only keep and mature the number of fruit, which it can bear...

Karl, if the fruit are only the size of a nickel, and are prematurely turning yellow they certainly won't be worth much. If they were on my tree I would pull them so that they would not reduce the spring bloom. Further to help the tree set a good bloom, I would also apply a foliar spray of either Urea or Potassium Nitrate one month before expected start of bloom.

Karl, I would pull the fruit. I had the same thing on an XIE shan and the fruit has already been pulled. After hurricane Ike a lot of the satsumas bloomed and set fruit. None of the fruit had a pleasant taste.
