I was at the nursery picking up some soil and coconut bark for the 2 10 yr olds replantings ...

they had tons of citrus and the main owner sent a lady over to me to ask me what i suggested for a first citrus plant ..

they had 4 choices all 1-2 yr old plants
to choose from we had Meyers lemon, lisbon lemon, bearesslime, and key lime... thanks to this list i knew limes are not easy to grow and the meyers is a little harder then the lisbon for me anyway to grow ..so i helped her pick out the best lisbon lemon they had ..one with out broken branches and so forth.. we got her some fertilizer and soil since this plant was 3 ft tall and in 1 g pot i told her we would need to transplant it .. so she said she had Huge pots and only needed a few ..so i went to her place we transplanted her tree into a 15 g pot smallest she had and had been buying orchard trees for the last yr she gave me 37 15-30 g pots Shocked

now she calls me about anything last night a leaf dropped LOL ... she is looking for cold Hardy bananas and since i killed mine i know where to send her but i dont know what i should suggest any advice ? Tammy

I have cold hardy bananas, but much work is still required for them to bear fruit. But if you just want a plant in the ground that comes back every spring, I can suggest the cultivars to look for, but without protecting them during winter, chances of fruiting in your zone is very small.
