Has anyone come across plants for sale of this particular variety of Navel?
The summer gold navel is amongst the sweetest navel, was originally discovered from Australia, imported over to California and was supposedly spread years ago.
Searching the budwood listing, it is not available for release to the public, perhaps due to Australian patent over this navel.
Test shows that it has indeed the highest Solubles to Acid ratio, which is correlated well with sweetness (not necessarily flavor). I don't think that the flavor part will be a problem over here in N.Ca as most of our citruses tend to be on the "sour" but flavorful side due to our colder winters than S.Ca
Anyway here's the data:

So far, the only place I found it is budwood order from Willits and Newcomb nursery and is sold at a total of $2.10 per eye of bud. Fortunately, there is only one eye per bud, LOL! I'd much prefer live plant if it can be delivered to California. Too bad this is not in the CCPP listing for budwood orders.
