...and into the ground. This seed grown lemon was getting too big and clumsy to move around. I'll build a 2x2 framework around it and 6 mil poly. Open most times, but closed and some supplimental heat during the worst weather. It's managed fine in my cold frame during the past 4 years.
Here it is standing 4 and a half feet tall, and 5 feet wide in my PNW 8b climate.

Millet.
I started this from seed in Dec 2002. so it's slightly less than 4 years from seed. It's had some tip damage from frost. For some reason this lemon tried to push new growth in cold weather last year, and the tender new growth (about 6 inches) died back.
It was very root bound when I planted it the other day. I mixed in some bone meal in the planting hole. All I can do is give it a shot.
