Pretty scarey. I just received a Meyer Lemon plant today from Enterprise, Fl. 32725
I have 2 atlases & it's not listed. Is it in any of those counties?

This sentence was taken from disney girl's first link..." Almost 70 percent of nursery plants were destroyed (because of canker) before the war was declared a lost cause." This why I have been anxious of purchasing new citrus trees from Florida. - Millet |

So, it's possible that my new tree has it & may spread to my other trees?
It looks very healthy |

Patty, I am certainly no expert on canker. If your tree has canker you should see the round necrotic spots on the leaves, with a yellow halo around the edges of the spots. You healthy tree should be fine. Your calcium nitrate was shipped today via UPS. - Millet |

Awe thanks Millet....you are a sweety.
Hey, I mentioned on another post that I've been lucky at air layering (although it takes awhile) rather than rooting cuttings in soil. I have 2 Bay trees that I've had for about 9 years & I love them. I have one air layer that is getting roots so I started another. If you want, I will start another rooting by air-layer. It will take a few months, but it can be a present to your wife! There's nothing better than fresh bay leaf in soups, stews, sauces, & esp. spaghetti sauce! Something for her in the kitchen?
Laaz is interested in one also. I bought them in 2 inch pots & they are now in 5 gal. pots with tons of leaves & branches. Easy to take care of.
They'll do fine in a west window sunlight in winter (where I have mine)and they sleep but don't drop leaves--they just won't grow. I put mine outside in partial shade in summer. You won't need to put them in your greenhouse at all! I should post a pic of plants--if you want I will. Uncountable leaves on them!
Thanks Millet!,
Let me know so I can start another air layer. I'll give you the one I just started. --I saw the price tag recently on Bay Leaf here in grocery & I just started laughing. I get them fresh & for free LOL
