Sorry to get a little off-topic, but how do I store citrus seeds? Can I just dry them or do they have to be kept moist?
I'm interested in an Ichang lemon seed but I'm affraid I have no interesting seeds at the moment, just a couple of lime seeds that are soaking, waiting to be planted. |

If you dry the seeds too much, they will die. keeping them too much moist is dangerous, because they tend to rot...so best is to dry the outer white surface and than send them or treat them with fungicide and/or put them into soil. |

Yes Andy sent me some seed of the Violet lemon, but they were moldy when they arrived and none germinated. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I store all of my citrus seed like Bernhard says. Clean them throughly by rinsing with water for 3 or 4 days, changing the water each day. Afterwards, let them surface dry on a towel or paper coffee filter. Once dry, immediatly put them in a small plastic bag and add Captan, or another fungcide approve for seed. Shake the bag so as to cover the seed throughly and ship, or store in a frig at between 35 and 40 degrees f.

Another bacteriostat that is very commonly use to protect stored Citrus seed is 8-HQC ) 8-Hydroxyquinoline Citrate . BTW, 8HQC along with sucrose is the make up of most fresh flower preservatives. - Millet |

now concrete:
I can offer you in total 5 seeds of Satuma x trifoliata monofoliate, I received the plant from the botanic intitute of Prag, it shall survive -12°C; the fruit taste is sweet like Satsuma, no poncirus flavors. The seeds seem to be polyembryonic...no garantie of germination, they look very glossy...
second: 25 seeds were in my Ichang Hybrid No.3 fruit, I thought of sending 5 seeds/person if requested, the fruit taste is absolutely like normal lemon, no other flavors. Hardy till -10°C I think. All seeds seem to be monoembryonic.
third: If someone wants: I can put up to 30 seeds of Ichang Lemon to the envelope - I have about 100-200 availible. (The seeds on the pic are from one fruit - I have 6 fruits...
Ah, my conditions?
I need your adress and send the seeds for free (Up to: 30x Ichang Lemon, 5x Hybrid No.3, 1x Satsumaxtrif) but would be happy, if someone would send me seeds of interesting cold hardy hybrids.

Just discovered in my refrigerator:
about 40-50 seeds of c. ichangensis from open pollination in my greenhouse between 200 other varieties - a bit older but good enough for a germinating try. If someone likes to have some....? _________________

Hi again,
just sent the seeds, all seeds treated with fungicide so please water 1/2 day before...and removing of the outer shell would be helpfull for the Ichangensis Clone K seeds - only 7 packs in total, so sorry, Kyle and Ivica, no envelope - I only have seeds of Ichang lemon left if you like.
Bernhard
2.edit: ichangensis Clone K is the motherplant of these promising hybrids Violetta and Hybrid No.3, so worth to try! It has only zygotic offspring of open pollination from my 200 varieties.... _________________

Bernhard! Hold onto those seeds for me, PLEASE! I have been trying to find Citrus ichangensis x C. reticulata for AGES. I have sent you an email... can't wait to be in contact with you!
Edited - Oh gosh, Bernhard, I just realised you posted that message a year ago.
Too late.
Anyone else got any fresh Ichang lemon/Yuzu Lemon seeds?
