Has anyone had any experience with the Arctic Frost Satsuma this winter? I saw some for sale at Abide Awhile Nursery in Mt Pleasant SC.

I picked one up in Summerville last fall and it did not fair as well as I had hoped. Zero protection in 14 degree weather defoliated it 100 percent. All my citrus is flushing out except the arctic frost, its still got green limbs but it does have a big split in the bark on the lower trunk. It may have been killed back to the ground, I will have to wait and see. Its on its on roots so it may come back.

Stan how did your satsumas handle the cold this winter, did they defoliate?

They look terrible. I think I managed to save the majority of the grove but they look as bad as I have ever seen them. I may manage to produce a few bushels of fruit this season but it wont be anything like the 5000 pounds we harvested last year.
