Very interesting post, Phillip. The only thing is, the Pie Chart for Social Security expenditures should be titled: "How Social Security Money is Spent on Social Security", because as titled, there should be a big, empty piece of pie. Barbara

We do not deserve the entilements that the left wing desires to cast upon those that do not work nor intend to better themselves....The truth before us all is that "Those that do not work do not desrve the same healt care or quality of life that I do...as I work for what I get. When did it become "right" to take from those that work and give it to those that do not? The truth again that must slap us all in the face is: We have allowed the sorry status that we now find ourselves in....by not firing Senators and representatives that do not do what "we" the people that hired them ask of them. The people that we have hired have stolen from us......and we have voted them in again.............they have misused the powers that we gave them to use to better our country and our way of life and yet we have not fired them........................As the truth closes in on it.............we need to remember that not long ago death by various means was the reward for stealing and taking from other what they earned............regardless of the intent of the theif..............................I for one will do all that I can to see that people like Obama.........do not get my support.................I will vote him out again in 4 years.......as all good Americans should...............David

It became "right" when moral relativism took hold in this country and no one was allowed to question anyone else's morals. "What's good for you is good for you and what's good for me is good for me." In the end though, the person saying that is a liar because they turn around and impose their virtues (or lack thereof) on everyone.

It became "right" when Marxism invaded this country and the proletariat were convinced that they were being exploited by the "capitalists" who own and control the means of production (and thus we now have Labor Unions and the Democratic Party)

The sad thing is that many of the representatives are doing exactly what we ask them to do. The problem is that "we" (the typical American (I'm atypical Smile

)) want the government to hand us tax rebates, we want them to pay for social, environmental, and "educational" programs. We want free daycare, free health care, free housing, free elderly care, etc. Our elected officials are giving us what "we" want without the average American being smart enough to realize nothing in life is free and we will PAY FOR IT!!!

One word I'm using a lot lately:

"Demagogy" - Refers to a political strategy for obtaining and gaining political power by appealing to the popular prejudices, emotions, fears and expectations of the public typically via impassioned rhetoric and propaganda, and often using nationalist or populist themes.

You are on target Dauben. What we deserve is for the media to do its job...and that is not what they have done. We now have left wing, right wing and socialist oriented media. Media that spin simple facts to thier liking......We deserve that the folks that we have chosen to represent our ideals and heritage do just that. We deserve the best life that we can earn. We deserve to spend our earnings as we see fit. We deserve to pay a fair and appropriate tax for the goods and services that this great courtry has to offer. We deserve to stand up and fight for what is right with hearts, minds, fist and arms. We deserve to rear our children as Americans without the assualt from the various spliter groups intent upon imposing their agenda upon the minds of the youth of this great country. I have become so dissapointed with the worthless trash that took place within the confines of (election campaigning) that I have lost interest in a process that used to mean something viable....it is no longer that. I am sorry that I have not done a better job of selecting people to represent me and my conservative views...and sorry that my children will have to suffer from it and sorry that my children will have the job of paying the debt that I have created....sorry that I have left my children to right the errors of a generation long gone. .................

I am not a whiner..................not a pessimist...and not a nay sayer. I am not one that sits by and lets the rest of the world work for my benefit or even one that will take the fruits of the work of others..............I am a man that has given his blood for this country....a man that has reared 5 children with the best tools available to me. ....a man that has worked for a number of years and now is out of the traces and into the pasture. A man that believes that other should work and earn and contribute....a man that frowns on those that do not....a man that votes against the left wing people. politics and standards..........a man that thinks the hollywood left are fools and should stay in rehab instead of making thier agenda to elect people and impose their views on the rest of the world.

I must get off the soap box as I will state all that I find wrong with the world we live in today. I am a man that feels and lives out loud...I walk not on eggs....as I have earned the right to say what I think.............but I know too that it must be done in the booth........and that is where we all have to fire those that do not do the job that we have entrusted them to do........................David
