It was like founding a pearl...! I got very surprised when I found a seed while eating a 'dekopon'... As I am a layman on the subject, I would like to ask if this seed can germinate or it must be sterile.
Thanks!!

I am not familiar with that cultivar, but the seed is not sterile. It should be planted now and not allowed to dry out, but it should grow. The question is whether or not it is a true to type or a hybrid of two different parents.

You can carefully remove the outer coat of the seed--if there is more than one embryo, it is true to type, otherwise it is uncertain. In either case, removing the seed coat will speed growth of the embryo(s).

Hi Luciano, that's a very lucky find! Did your Dekopon seed sprout ok?

I just read an article online about this citrus. I really can't wait to try it. The way the taste was described definitely made my mouth water.
