Ok i know the first Yr not to let them bloom but um I couldnt help it .
here is the 2 that are blooming ..these are 3 month old cuttings from the order of 45 plants .

im learning way too much here Banana org and plummeria org so soon my yards gonna make people thing there in a rain forest/ citrus zone LMAO..

I have a Plummeria plant that is about 8 feet tall. I got the plant some time back from Citrus Joe. It has not bloomed yet this year, but it is really putting on leaf growth. If you enjoy the flower let it grow. - Millet

I have been researching plumerias since I just got 5 cuttings amd I am in the process of (hopefully) rooting them.

I have not seen anything to sugggest that the blooms should be removed the first year.

What varieties?

I would let it flower and take their pics every stage of flower progression. It might be the only time it will flower for you, who knows? But hoping that it will flower every year.

Although Plummeria is many times grown as a container plant, especially in cold winter areas, it is actually a small tree, which can grow to 25 feet. The branching comes from the flowers. Thus the more flowers, the more branches the tree will have, and the more branches the tree develops, the more flowers it will produce. However, your Plummeria is quite small to start forming the foundation branches. By all means enjoy the flower. - Millet

I have 9 Varieties
I got 5 of each one since i found them so dirt cheap..
I had no Idea they would all make it but ill Tell ya i got some good advice from the guy who sold them to me

he said make up a soil that will drain fast enough to stay moist not wet

then fill 1/3 of the container
add Perlite about 1/3 of the container and the plant then fill with remaining soil.

SO i did all 45 that way and all 45 are rooted and doing awesome ..Tammy

Ok, I did not know what this plant was so I looked it up! How cool is that and beautiful besides. I sure learn a lot here. Looks like that is one I will need to try. Tammy, I know you said you have some to trade but since I have no plants yet to trade, wondering if you could recommend a reliable source where I could purchase one? Thanks in advance!

JustJoan, why don't you just buy one from Tammy for cost of S&H? Much cheaper and she has a bunch. I got a lot of my plants from trades here or for S&H.

I would let it flower also. Once it flowers, a new branch will grow. It took 4 years for my cutting to finally flower. I was watching the show "Gardening by the Yard" & he had one in a container that was about 12' tall. He would keep it dormant in his garage in the winter & bring it out in the spring. I have been thinking about trying that idea with another cutting I have.- Vinny

I just looked for Millets Plumeria plants ..
I said all are rooted and doing well..
NO ONE told me how weird these plants are even the plants i have with Flowers dont have roots yet.they have small ones but pin sized.

I did however find one Hot pink thats doing the best in growth and has a few good roots on it and my poly pink is doing so-so small roots. whites and yellows doing well with very small magot sized roots ( i thought they were magots) . the rainbow i had to replant as i cut off dead ends and put some root tone on them and put them in new dirt.they where brown on Bottoms and Very soft inside. Stem rott ?

Tammy PS Millet you will get a Rainbow No matter what i have to do to get it to you Rooted.

Westwood, you may know this from reading already, but Plumeria cuttings are easy as long as they get heat and they don't get rot. Rot is the #1 cutting killer.

What mix are you in? I got some cuttings from Maui Plumeria Gardens and they recommended 2/3 perlite, 1/3 peat or promix...a lot of people go 50:50. I heard of a neat trick (after I had mine potted up): 50:50 perlite/promix, put it in the 1 gal container, but put a water bottle in the container, just like you were planting it. Water in. Then after the water drains, pull out the water bottle, leaving a 2-3" wide by 6" deep hole in the mix. Dust up the cutting as usual, put it 4" deep in the hole, then fill the rest of the hole in with straight perlite.
