APS Journal has recently published a MPMI Journal on HLB (Greening disease in Citrus)
Citrus huanglongbing (HLB) or citrus greening is a highly destructive disease presumably caused by the phloem-inhabiting, α-proteobacterium ‘Candidatus Liberibacter spp.Â’. In the November issue of MPMI (Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactons), compared the pathogen response of tolerant rough lemon to susceptible sweet orange using DNA microarrays. In addition to differences in gene expression, rough lemon plants maintained significant phloem transport after pathogen infection. Such studies may ultimately lead to the development of citrus tolerance to citrus greening. - Millet
