Did some Air Layering on Eureka Lemon and Navel Orange the other day. After i got the sections nice and wrapped i realized i didn't put my Rooting hormone on the Air Layering Sections. Is it necessary to use Rooting Hormone? Or will it be OK? What is the average time it takes to complete the process? All the Trees have a new Growth starting again. First time Air Layering.

That should be OK. It's better with no Rooting hormone then too much of that.

I do this to my Lemon sometimes (in June):

Two months later:

I did it never with N. orange.

I'm not sure about the amount of assistance that a rooting hormone would do with Navel Orange, but lemons root so easily, I doubt that they would require a rooting hormone to root successfully. - Millet

I don't use anything with lemons, they pretty much root themselves.
