Hi Group,

I'm new to the group so first off, I live and grow about 10-12 types of cold hardy citrus in coastal South Carolina. I started growing about 3 years ago with one satsuma and..............we, we all know how it snowballs from there. I guess I need to move further away from Stan McKenzie! Wink

My problem is I have a tree with what I suspect is alternaria brown spot. At least it looks like the images I found on the internet. The tree in question is a Yuzu on FD rootstock. I have had the tree for 2 years and haven't had a problem with it until a month or two ago. It starts with small yellow spots which quickly grow and then turn brown in the center. Soon the entire leaf turns brown and falls off. I have sprayed with Daconil fungicide, but this doesn't seem to be helping. I have checked the spots with a hand magnifier and noticed small spherical fungal spores (I think thats what they are). Anyone have any ideas. Should I get rid of the tree or is there a cure or treatment.

BTW, I'm going to try and post a picture, hope it works.

Thanks
Bud

I'm beginning to believe Yuzu is a pain in the @ss. My Yuzu on flying dragon developed scab mid summer. I used heavy doses of copper fungicide which cleared them right up, but still left some scars on the fruit.

Most every photo I see of Yuzu has some type of peel blemish...

Mine are about ripe now, I'll post a photo tomorrow.

Welcome to the forum Bud !

Sorry it's raining hard, this is the best shot I could get today.

The Satsumas are as big as grapefruit this year, can't wait till their ripe !

Thanks for the link Skeet. That is the site I found earlier that made me think I had ABS on my YUZU. Laaz said he used a copper based fungicide on his plants and it helped. What product did you use or do you recommend? I've got a friend with some Kocide 101 and the label indicates it can be used on citrus......or is it to late to even worry about it?

Thanks for the pic Laaz

The only time I have needed a fungicide I used a liquid copper (hydroxide).
