You lucky dog you! My cherimoyas have it good --they are in sunroom which I didn't let get any colder than mid 40's at night. Now, the Paw Paws are braving it outside this winter! May get fruits off them this yr if they survived. (I think they will) _________________ Patty

Walked in to my favorite Asian Supermarket yesterday, and saw them unloading boxes upon boxes of Cherimoya !! Then inside the store, there was already a table with alot of them, much smaller and already ripe to the touch,,,,Though the cashier tried to discourage me from buying the bigger, fresher 'Moyas, instead he wanted to sell me the "discounted" over-ripe, smaller ones...I would have none of it !! So, proceeded to payoff $42 for 5 Cherimoya's that weighed over 7 lbs total.....I just can't wait for MY trees to start producing !!!!! Talk about a LUCKY DOG !! _________________ Citrus & Cherimoya Addict |

At $8.40 per fruit, I hope we both get 'moyas this year!!!!
Knowing how pricey they are will make them taste even better. _________________ Patty

Thanks Patty.
I'll put it in a special place together with my dwarf banana tree(s). I wonder if they are compatible side by side? (thinking aloud).
I have a very good idea in my mind how I can protect them from wind and frost. But just an idea. A stand alone thing I saw at Costco. But then I have more projects going on right now.
Here's the cherimoya I just bought:

Yeay Benny! That's a nice plant. I'm sure with the website I sent & info from EZ, you will get fruits. I'm happy for you. _________________ Patty

benny, that's interesting packaging on your plant....How did it arrive ? Looks like it was shipped very unprotected, or was there another box that enclosed it ? _________________ Citrus & Cherimoya Addict |

Patty:
Thanks for the compliment. I hope so very muh. I will follow your advice and EZ to the letter. Meantime I am proteting it from the cold. in and out everyday so it can have sunshine during the day and warmth inside at nite. Until Spring time and it will have its final place.
EZ:
No, actually it was wrapped up very good. The box came in tandem- in 3 pieces. I had a hard time removing the first and the middle piece because they were so taped up together and was afraid I could damage the leaves.
First time I'd seen one secured like that. You think that the box is one piece looking at it but inside the tapes there were 3 pieces.
I'd order from them again. Whereas from Rosieole where I bought my bananas there was no protection so all the leaves and stems were damaged badly. |
