Availability: Commercially available in California through the Citrus Clonal Protection Program.

Why not just get budwood or a grafted tree?

Laaz, I don't think they have the Thermal Tarocco out there in production. Not sure it's been offered in the CCPP. Not all that is marked available is actually made available via CCPP.

If not, then what does "Commercially available" mean? Confused

What it means is, that the CCPP has it, but it may not always be on the Screenhouse or Early Release Budwood offerings. For example, not available the last two offerings:

http://www.ccpp.ucr.edu/budwood/forms/2012-Forms/2012-01-05-ScreenhouseFaxOrderForm%201-12.pdf

http://www.ccpp.ucr.edu/budwood/forms/2012-Forms/2012-01-05-EarlyReleaseFaxOrderForm%201-12.pdf

CCPP doesn't offer all the possible budwood during budwood cutting dates and they haven't updated what they offer since 1/12. It's been the same cultivars.

Joe used to get budwood from the CCPP screen house anytime of the year, and just about any variety that he ask for. Some times it would be sent and sometime we would pick it up in California when we were in the area. - Millet

I think they're changed their policy now, Millet. There are two or three times a year they will fulfill budwood orders, Jan 16, Jun 12 and Sept 11th are the ordering deadline dates for this year. You have to get your order in by then, then they cut about 5 days later, and then ship in another 7 days.

Joe is friends with one of the people there, I think that is why he got what he wanted.
