Well, it is getting close to Thanksgiving and I know alot of citrus is starting to ripen. Although I really like Phoenix so far, there are citrus varieties that I like that I just cannot get in this state nor can they shipped. So, I am stuck growing from seed. I would love if anyone can send me some seeds of the following variety...(of course I will pay for all shipping/handling----I usually use PayPal)

Bloomsweet Grapefruit
Ichang Lemon
Croxton Grapefruit
Sanbokan(grapefriut or lemon, whatever you want to call it)
Changsha Mandarin(only from trees with sweet fruit, I know some have them with insipid tasting fruit)
Bloomsweet

I can get all of the other varieties I want out here from Turtleman, but these varieties are no where to be found in the state.

Also, I did want to mention when I lived in Virginia, I sent out some seeds to people. The best way I found to get viable seeds across the country is to place 2-3 citrus segments, with the seeds already inside, in a sandwhich bag. Everyone I ever sent out had pristine, 100% viable seeds.

Thanks for any help!!!!!

Andrew, I have Snabokan & Changsha. Now the million dollar question... Why in the world would you want Ichang Lemon when you can grow true lemons where you are? Shocked

p.s. I also have seed from my ruby red grapefruit I grew from seed if you want some. I believe the Croxton was grown the same way.

I just think that lemons the size of grapefruit is way too cool!!! I like them for their ornamental value as much as anything. I would be happy to take some ruby red seeds! Changsha, although seedy, is one of my favorite citrus. Also, it seems hard to get bloomsweet!

Andrew, I can offer you some seedlings. BTW, I reside in VA as well.
Ruby Red aren't available in your local grocery store?

Have the following: featured below, Indian sweet lemon, and Minneapolis Tangelo.

Just checked, incoming seed lots from Rota Islands into VA shouldn't be any problem. Here is this the link, meant to post it earlier:

Citrusguy, the Citrus Lemonade fruit shown in the photo above, is that fruit from the citrus variety called New Zealand Lemonade tree? - Millet

I appreciate your help, but, I moved from VA to AZ. I had to leave all of my citrus behind, as, you are not allowed to import trees or budwood into AZ. This is due to citrus greening. So, I am trying to replenish my stock of certain varieties that I cannot buy in AZ. So, if you have any seeds, I am sure that is the only way that I can get this plants in AZ legally. However, I guess the seeds that do not come true, I am just outta luck.
What part of VA are you in? I used to be in Hampton, VA. If you have time, check out eyeckr, he lives in VA beach and probably has one of the top 5 most impressive varieties of hardy citrus on the east coast!

Andrew,

are you sure you can receive seeds in AZ? You may double-check it just in case. I know that TX prohibits importing citrus seeds.

Good luck!

Hey Millet,

That's a very good question you ask. Found this video under a search for "new zealand lemonade" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loxDuMe7gTg&t=6m37s].

Here's also another link: [http://itp.lucidcentral.org/id/citrus/citrusid/key/Citrus/Media/Html/images/Lime_like_hybrids/New_Zealand_Lemonade_IMG_3798.jpg]

Could very much be [keyword FIND "lalanga" @http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/forum/japanese-citrus-yuzu/]. The video and pictures [of the New Zealand Lemonade] show fruits that thoroughly yellow or green in color, however, most of the lemonade "lalanga" has green fruits with faint yellow. Or maybe, because of the weather of the geographical area largely determining the color, it might be just distorting the 'true' color of the fruit. So there's still a chance they might actually identical.

Fruiting season for 'lalanga' hasn't been defined.

Yes, I believe the last tree shown in the first video is indeed a New Zealand Lemonade tree. I recently purchase a young New Zealand Lemonade tree, a month ago, therefore it will be a year or two before it produces fruit, and probably 5 years before it produces good quality fruit. - Millet

Well, I don't know about the seeds, but, it is legal to ship fruit into AZ. That I know for sure. That is why I am asking for the fruit in segments, with the seed. I might be splitting hairs, here, but I am getting the fruit, whatever I do with it once I get it is my business.
