I need about a dozen grafting age fly dragon plant's to attempt some grafts and need the extra for mistakes. I'm going to be ordering some budwood from the CCPP. You are a far distance from me or I'd ask if you could do it for me. Anyway let me know.

I have a number of them in 14" tall pot ready to be budded.
All our budding has stopped about a month ago because it's Summer here, the mortality rate with budding in 118 degree temps is Very High. The only thing I bud in this weather is our Peaches and Nectarines.
I use the greenhouses for seed germination then we transplant into tall pots to size out and harden off out in one of the shade houses. When those are ready we bud whatever we need for the following season and let them sit right where they are (no need to handle the pots again).
I can bud for you if you want or when temps permit I can get a hold of the now closed U of A Citrus Research Station for scion wood.. It's up to you.. let me know

Can I get a list of the varieties they have? There are a number on CCPP I want, so I suppose I could bring the budwood out to you, but it's a trek. When would be a good time for me to order? I could order soon, but if it's a bad idea, I won't.

I guess I until September for the next cutting round. Can you get me a list of what in the U of A.

Here's some of what's interesting me at the CCPP mostly oranges right now.

Bidwell’s bar sweet orange
Smith Red "Valencia" orange
Variegated Valencia orange
Rhode Red Valencia orange
Corrugated Thomson navel orange
Imperial Variegated Sweet Orange
Parent Washington navel orange
Bream Tarocco blood orange
Variegated Cara Cara sweet orange
Wekiwa tangelo

Still looking, not all are available. Really want that corrugated Thomson, Rhode Red and the variegated ones.

If you are going to get budwood from UCR, as a non California resident, they will make you get a certified OK from the Arizona agricultural commissioner, or the Arizona Secretary of State, before they will send budwood to you. So you need to get this OK before the budwood dispensing time runs out. I also believe, as an out of state customer you will have to purchase a minimum of 10 sticks of budwood for each variety that you wish to purchase. You can verify this with UCR, but that was what was required the last time I looked into purchasing budwood from them. For out of state customers, it becomes quite expensive quickly. Good luck. - Millet (1,268-)

millet do you see any variety in there worth the effort. The red Valencia look interesting, I hoping the corrugated navel and variegated varieties were available. I know what interests me, but I'm not educated enough to know what some of the gems may be. I hope to see what turtleman's source has.

The U of A Citrus Research Station was closed as of the end of June, I know the farm managers and others at U of A and being able to get source material there still isn't to much of a problem, except that it's all locked up now!
They have a interesting amount of trees there but its a "Research" station and the types of what they've grown there have been for use in commercial production here in AZ (it was the test field for many types)
I'd feel safe to say they don't have many of the items on your list because they were never considered for production in AZ
I'll call Jim on Wednesday and see if he has a list available of what was out there. Just remember the U of A no longer has a lease on that land, and it's the property of the Maricopa Water District.

tm, the ones I'm really interested in most of these I can't get from CCPP either. They have them, but not available except the I really want the Smith Red, Corrugated Navel and any variegated orange, lime or grapfruit. If they have any of these available, I'm a buyer. I may still go through the paperwork here if there any interest in from other in some of the budwood CCPP has to offer. I just need to know what people are interested in.

Smith Red "Valencia" orange
Variegated Valencia orange
Rhode Red Valencia orange
Corrugated Thomson navel orange
Imperial Variegated Sweet Orange
Parent Washington navel orange
Variegated Cara Cara sweet orange

There may be others of note, I wouldn't know. Do you see anything there (the big list) that interests you?

There are a lot of excellent varieties listed. Silver Hills Satsuma is a very difficult variety to find, I see it is on the list. I'm surprised that Xie Shan Satsuma is not on the list. Xie Shan Satsuma is one of the sweetest citrus varieties there is, sometimes having an sugar to acid ratio of 33-1. - Millet (1,268-)

Guss I missed seeing Xie Shan. I would highly recommend Xie Shan Satsuma. I got my Xie Shan some years ago as a stick of budwood from Bonnie. It is now a nice tree. Another one of my favorite mandarins is Page. Page is a good out of hand fruit, and makes excellent juice. Ponkan, (a favorite of Skeet's) is another good mandarin, the tree produces one of the largest sized mandarins in the citrus family. - Millet (1,267-)
